There is no pattern or plan. The quilt emerges as you go. You adjust and adjust until it just feels right.
Nothing is static. Nothing is predetermined. The piece is ever evolving, rearranging itself in every single moment.
Instinct takes over.
The answers never come from what I think will work.
It’s not about acquiring the right pieces or making out a perfect image. The pieces are inconsequential, but it is in their arrangement that something emerges.

Feeling is the only guide. Feeling doesn’t reside in any specific thing.
Nothing in the mind’s eye is more intelligent than this feeling.
The feeling is the coherence.
It’s not about aesthetics, although that is often the end result. It’s something behind or before aesthetics; the energy that makes beauty inevitable.
These almost didn’t work. I nearly quit a hair before this last version was born. As usual, the practice continues to teach me how to live.
